Chiropractic Adjustments
Dr. Carlos uses a variety of techniques to help tailor treatment to each individual patient. Some of the techniques he uses - such as diversified and Thompson drop - are hands on, whereas others - such as activator and torque release - are instrument assisted techniques. These various techniques are used to correct joint restrictions which hinder the body’s natural functions and movements that are found during a palpation exam of the spine. These adjustment are gentle and specific enough to ensure proper movement of the joints in question. When the adjustment is performed with the hands, it can sometimes cause a cavitation or an audible “pop”. This cavitation is simply gases released from the joint space which stimulates mechanoreceptors in the spine, which in turn sends a pain relief message to the brain. This reaction allows the areas being adjusted to become less painful and also increases movement.
Manual Therapy
When there is dysfunction in joint complexes, it will be accompanied by dysfunction in the surrounding soft tissue, whether this be muscles, ligaments, fascia, and/or tendons. The presence of these injuries will also cause a patient to experience pain, tension, and/or a loss of range of motion. We can address these pains and increase mobility in the muscles and tendons to improve range of motion. The treatments we offer are IASTM/ Graston, cupping, Active Release Technique, and Proprioceptive Neuromuscukar Facilitation.
IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), or Graston, is a technique used to address musculoskeletal complaints in order to decrease tissue inflammation, increase blood flow, and allow proper movement of muscle fibers. Patients may notice redness in the affected area, but this is a common and is not a concern.
Cupping therapy uses the negative pressures found inside the cups against the skin to create a vacuum effect for the muscles in order to promote more blood flow and increase tissue mobility. Cupping therapy paired with movement of the affected areas is the most beneficial way of using this treatment.
Active Release Technique is a method in which we use pressure points during active movements to allow adhesions to release.
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is a technique using counter pressures while you are activating a muscle in order to help stretch the muscle and allow for proper movement.
Wellness Care
Wellness care is all about trying to keep your body functioning in its most optimal state and living to your fullest potential. We want to ensure our patients are consistently reaching their goals, whether it’s running a marathon or playing with their grandchildren without pain. We want to maintain the progress we’ve made in the office to ensure they are functioning optimally. Wellness care is the goal for all. We want to see you at whatever age and stage of life you are in. We want to make sure your daily impacts in life are not wearing your health down over time. Wellness care patients tend to notice a decrease in tension and increase in range of motion and stability throughout their day-to-day. Wellness care can look a variety of ways, whether that is adjustments and minimal manual therapy, or coaching through exercises to ensure proper form and coordination.
Auto Accident
After an auto accident, there are so many different people you need to talk to throughout the process. Here at Luxe Chiropractic, we want to make the entire process as easy as possible. We will handle attorney information, claims, and any other questions that may arise. With years of experience in auto accident injury cases, we can assure you not only clear and concise communications but also improvement in your pains. Throughout the processes, there will be examinations and reexaminations in order to assess how much improvement we’ve seen and how much more we can expect. Once we see how much you improved, it is recommended that you continue with wellness care since a number of the injuries sustained from an auto accident are considered permanent injuries. Wellness care is also recommended for non-auto accident patients after their care is complete. This allows for the reoccurrence of the pain to be minimal and allow for you to live and function optimally.
We offer immediate, same-day appointments and free consultations.
