Some of the techniques he uses - such as diversified and Thompson drop - are hands on, whereas others - such as activator and torque release - are instrument assisted techniques. These various techniques are used to correct joint restrictions which hinder the body’s natural functions and movements that are found during a palpation exam of the spine. These adjustment are gentle and specific enough to ensure proper movement of the joints in question. When the adjustment is performed with the hands, it can sometimes cause a cavitation or an audible “pop”. This cavitation is simply gases released from the joint space which stimulates mechanoreceptors in the spine, which in turn sends a pain relief message to the brain. We use a Grason/IASTM instrument with a balm to help increase blood circulation, remove adhesions, and decrease pain signals going to the brain.
